Period Changing Days

I have been on birth control pills for 2 years. I used to get my period on the Tuesday of my placebo week, then they slowly changed to Wednesdays....then Thursdays....now they start on Friday!! How can I get them back to Tuesdays! I'm stuck w/ my period into the weekend and active pills. Any suggestions on how I could change when I take my pills? -I-Gal

It happens. Your body changes over time and reacts to the hormones in the pill slightly differently.

So, you want your period to start three days sooner, right? Then, at the end of a pack of pills, shorten (NEVER lengthen) your inactive pill week by three days. This will change your start day from that time on. For example, if you are a Sunday start now, subtracting three days would make you a Thursday start.

Be aware that this may not work perfectly the first month, it may take time to settle down to a specific day. It could also change again in the future!!

The other way you could do it is by moving one day back per month, having 6 inactive days instead of 7. This might make for less adverse side effects from changing your start day, but it might not!!!

Good Luck!
