I am currently taking the pill, but for some reasong it is hard for me to remember to take on time. I was thinking about switching to the patch in june when I go to the doctor. I was wondering if anyone had and insight about it. My cousin uses that patch and hasn't had any problems her sister go pregant on the patch. That kind of scares me. I have read that it is just a effective as the pill. Is that so? Any info would be nice.
Thanks

I have been on the patch for over a year and I love it. It is very convient only having to think about it once a week, I know that I would never remember to take the pill everyday- I forget to take my heart medicine quite regularly... I have not experienced any negative side effects, but there are some on this board who have. Just keep in mind that it's usually problems or concerns that bring people to message boards like this, so there may be startling number of people on here that HAVE experienced side effects. All that said, every body is different. Hopefully if you try it and give it the 3 month adjustment time you will love it as many many other women do:) It is just as effetive as the pill, some people say it is even more so because it practically gets rid of the risk of human error that could lead to pregnancy. It's unfortunate that your cousin's sister got pregnant on the patch, but no method of BC is perfect. Remember, all 99% effective means is that out of 100 women, 1 got pregnant. The only negative thing that I have to say for the patch is that it can irritate your skin if you have sensitive skin and occasionally it will leave a red square that lasts a few days after removing a patch. I'm sure others on here will be able to give you even more insight. Good luck on making your decision:)
