I have a question and I have been trying to find an answer but havent had any luck.
I have been using the patch for about 6 months now. Before that i was on the pill for 4 months. I have had no problems but the normal symptoms that I am reading here.
I have also been recently been diagnosed wiht hypothyroidism and am on medication for that. I have been taking that steadily for 2 months.
Now my problem. I was on the 4th day of my 3rd patch and i got my period. i have kept the patch on and i still have my period (it has been 3 days already). I didnt know that you could get your period while the patch was on but here it is. I dont know what to do. Why did i get it? is something wrong? and what do i do now? If everything had been normal i would take off the patch in the morning and i should get my period in 2-3 days. But now i dont know if i should wait till my period is over, then put on the next patch or wait out the next week before i do that.
I also havent been taking my thyroid medication for a week (synthroid). I don't know if this has anythign to do with it.
I am very scared and worried that somethign is wrong with me. I appreciate any help anyon ecan give me on this.
Please help...
Thanks!

You should definitely talk to the doc who prescribed your patch and to the pharmacist who filled your thyroid Rx. to see if there has been an interaction and be guided by their advice. I wouldn’t take your patch off unless your doc says to because that will leave you unprotected. Let us know how you are doing, ok?
Good luck
Jill
I spoke with a nurse today (i couldnt speak with a doctor since I will be a new patient as of monday)and she said that it could have been a bad patch and that I should put on a new patch today as if this last week was my no patch week.
Does this worry anyone else? I didn't know that there could be "bad patches" that don't work. I guess it's a good sign then that I did get my period. Better than not getting it, at least for now.
I don't know. When I go in on monday, i will talk to them about the hypothyroidism and see what can be done. I also saw a posting on this site that said that your levels would be a point higher when on the patch...I wilsh i knew that. Now i'm convinced i'm undermedicatated and my doctor is an idiot (she insists that any problem i have can be solved with exercise even though my cholesterol jumped 100 points in a month).
Well, anyway....sorry for the dragged out message. it's just nice to be able to vent this out and know that someone out there may be listening. :o) thanks.
