Dr. recently switched me from Cyclen to Tricyclen Lo to assist with btb. I was on cyclen for years, the btb just started at the beginning of the year with regularity. Well, I am in the middle of pack 2. Had btb last month, week before inactives. As of this writing, I once again am one week before inactives (no btb, yet.) This month, however, I have experienced sore nipples. Is this just getting used to the new pill?? I have only been on monophasic pills up to this point. I am thinking it is just transition in getting used to the new pills.

What have other users experienced?

Thanks for sharing!!

Hey Sugarsmak:

I was also on OTC Lo, I didn't experience any BTB...however, I did have a really irregular period for the first couple of packs. (I would start bleeding while still on the last week of actives, but only a day or two before the inactives). This subsided after a couple of months, and my body adjusted. Perhaps this will happen for you too. :)

I didn't experience sore nipples, but did have breast tenderness...severe tenderness actually, they were so swollen and tender that I couldn't stand for them to be touched, I could barely wash myself in the shower for a while there! That too subsided, but the mood-swings never did, which convinced me to switch off of OTC Lo.

I'm now on Mircette (monophasic) which is much better for the mood swings, but still not the best. (I want to switch, but am getting married soon and don't want to risk nasty side effects of another brand, so I'm sticking with Mircette for now.)

I highly prefer the monophasics to triphasics (was on OTC & OTC Lo, then Cyclessa & Mircette) and I've had the best experience with Mircette (with mood swings).

Just my experience...hope that helps!

Thanks so much for your response. Sometimes impatience gets the best of me, I am sure things will be alright after the initial 3 packs!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY!!
