Sore breasts??

I have posted recently somewhat concerning this, but I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I am on my 3rd month of OTC-lo. During the first 2 months, I experienced slight side effects such as nausea, dizziness, some breast tenderness, but nothing unbearable. However, this month my breasts and nipples have been more sore than usual, starting about 10 - 14 days after starting my new pack. All other symptoms are about the same as the months before. I have taken all of my pills on time except for one which I took 8 hours late and have used backup since. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I know it is pretty normal to have sore breasts for the first few months while adjusting to the hormones of the pill, but since they weren't so sore the first 2 months, can I still think of this as adjusting? Are there other things that breast soreness can be attributed to? Any stories or advice or other shared experiences would be helpful.... I hope I am not beating a dead horse, I just really don't want to be pregnant right now.

Thanks so much!

The whole 5+ years I was on OTC (regular, not lo) I had breast tenderness for the entire third week of the cycle. I always assumed it was from the increase in hormones. It wouldn't always be the same degree of tenderness, some months would be worse than others. I think a lot of it has to do with your normal hormone production combining with the pill hormones. breast tenderness is a perfectly normal side effect, and since you're using backup birth control I think you're probably okay in terms of not being pregnant. I think you might just need to get used to having sore breasts and nipples every couple months. For me it was at its worst for the first 6-8 months I was on OTC, but the over the years the sensitivity gradually went down, but with the occasional cycle with super soreness. You might want to invest in a couply comfy bras for that week of the cycle. ;)
