i usually forget to take at least one pill a month...i usually take it 12 hours later when i remember...also i try to take it between 8 and 10 at night...but sometimes it's like 12, 1, 2, 3... what are the chances that i'm at risk for pregnancy?

I don't know of any studies that graph the increse in pg risk by hours late. Basically, if you miss a pill by more than about 2 hours for a combination pill or 1 hour for a minipill, you are technically late, and might want to use a back up method for at least 7 days.

Have you considered using a watch with an alarm, or trying some other method to help you remember? Or, you might look into the patch or ring, that you have to remember less often, or a noon-time sensitive method like the IUD.

You know, I might suggest taking it in the morning because you're more likely to have a routine in the morning than at night. Hell, some nights I'm not in bed until 3am, other times 11pm.

I may not always wake up at the same time, but I set my alarm. I have my pill right by my bed with a glass of water. Roll over. Swallow pill. Go back to sleep as needed. :-) I think typically plus or minus 2 hours is ok, but the closer you keep to schedule, the better.
