Ok so I started on the pill about 3 weeks ago. About 2 weeks into it me and my boyfriend were fooling around. we didn't have sex, but i was suposted to get my peroid today and i havn't yet and now i'm worrying. So here are my questions. a) How long does it take for the pill to be Effective? and B) is it possible to get pregnant without full out sex? Because he was close to me but there wasn't actual sex.

AH! please calm me down!!

IF you are on the pill, are u suposted to get your period the day you start placebo Pills?? Is there like a usual time? Has this happened to anyone else???

thanks for any help

Whoo, take a deep breath.

Okay, it usually takes 2-4 days of placebo pills before your period starts. for some women it may even take 6 days, so be calm.

it is very slightly possible to get pregnant without actual penetration, but if you were taking your pill correctly you should be covered after the first 7 days of usage.

If you find yourself feeling sort of iffy about the protection you're having with the pill, by all means use a back up method of BC, like condoms or spermicidal foam until you get used to your cycles on BCP.

I know it can be stressful and scary when you're waiting for your period and it just isn't coming fast enough and you start wondering if you did something wrong and everything just feels like it's out of control. don't worry, it just takes a little waiting.

and, for future reference, don't stress too hard about a "late" period until your cycles have stabilized on the pill and you've gotten used to them.
