I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for since about Jan and I skip my periods due to having endometrios. In the beginning I had some bleedin but that stopped after about 3 packs.

My doctor mentioned seasonal to me..but I've read some horrible stuff about it. I know its a fairly low dosage pill...but I wonder if after being on OTC if switching to seasonal will cause a lot more bleeding. I haven't had any since fed. I plan on staying on the pill for at least 8 more months (till Jan) and then go off to start trying and i'm getting married in April of 05... Does anyone know if skipping periods for that long is safe..my doc said its ok...and I've read up on it...I'm just afraid of messing up my fertilty...

Hi cap6182002, welcome!

I’m glad OTC is working well for you, especially taking the active pills back-to-back. Tricycling on a triphasic pill like OTC doesn’t work for some women. There is nothing magic about Seasonale, it’s the same formulation as the 21/7 regimen pill Nordette. It is just by a different manufacturer and packaged in an 84/7 pack. Under your doctor’s care it is safe to skip periods, usually going 3 months between periods and your fertility should not be affected. Personally, if OTC was working well for me I would stay with that pill rather than experimenting but you could certainly give Seasonale a try. Let us know what you decide, ok?

Good luck
