I was just at the end of my period when i went to the doctor to get my pills changed to the lower dose (from tri cyclen to Alesse cuase i seem to have an alergic reaction ot tri-cyclen) ANyway... been on the new pill for 5 days...and all of a sudden i seem to be spotting...it's been 3 days now..and it's now like a very light period....is that normal?! bleeding...so soon? I'm assuming it's the lower doseage that's causing this..but will it go away?!

I would assume its just break through bleeding as your body is getting used to the new pill. Maybe someone else can help ya more. Good luck! -Melissa

I think this is a common side effect when you start any new pill or switch pills. I had it when I switched from Triphasil to Tricyclen, but I haven't had it so far switching from Tricyclen to the patch. If it lasts through three cycles, you may want to look at switching pills, but I would wait until then to see if it goes away.
