Skipping vs. postponing periods

Hey there, just got a question about changing your period on the pill. It's been advised here before that people on triphasic pills have a better chance of changing their period by taking their 3rd week in the next pill pack, and then having a period the following week...thus postponing their period by one week. I'm on a monphasic pill however, so I know I could probably get away with taking a whole new pill pack and skipping my period entirely. But could I also just postpone it a week by taking a weeks worth of new pills, like many triphasic pill people do? I've never had spotting while taking my pills normally. But it seems more likely that I could avoid spotting by just taking a week more of pills instead of holding off my period for another 3 weeks. Has anyone experienced spotting when trying to skip or postpone their period on a monphasic pill?
Thanks a bunch :)

Skipping or delaying won't work for everyone but on a monophasic you have a better chance. You could try a week and see if that works and if it does then try for longer if you want, or not. If you don't want to try for longer then you can keep the unused pills in the pack as fill-ins if you lose a pill. A few spares can come in handy.
Good luck
