OK i am on the ring now, I like it alot but sometimes durring sex it gets pulled out and hurts really bad, the doc said it is because the size of my body. But i hate it i want to go on an IUD and the doc called and said it is in, but now i am getting cold feet and am afraid it will hurt way more!!!! I have heard all the bad stories and i need to hear some good ones.

The thing is I was on the pill but gained weight now i am on the ring and i am trying to shed about 5 more lbs and dont want my birth control to get in the way! The IUD so suppose to be low hormons but what are the real side effects???

Plus now that there are so many pills i dont know if i should give it another chance, last time i used it i got preg and because of my multi back surgery i had to abort and it was way to hard to even think about doing again...I want to trust my BC to not get me preg and still not to blow up like a ball, and still want to have SEX!!!! Please help me i need to call the doc soon and tell them if i still want it!!!!!

Once the IUD is in, you should not feel it at all. You may have some extra cramping at first, but if you take something like ibuprofen that should really help. For me, insertion was not bad at all, but I got the copper IUD, not the hormone one. As far as side effects from the hormones, I cannot help you out much. I can tell you that I told my doctor I did not want a hormone IUD because I have had nothing but horrible problems with hormones from the ring, patch, and several pills. He assured me that of all the patients he has ever put the hormone IUD in, no one has ever had any hormone-related side effects, because the dose is so low. But I decided not to take any chances. Good luck with your decision.

i'm not going to lie to you...it wasn'y comfortable to be put in-with my experience....but it wasn't unbearable...lots of pressure and cramping...take ibuprofen before you go,it'll help some....i'm super pleased that i got the IUD...good luck!!! i have the Mirena IUD-the hormonal one...side effects for me was breakthrough bleeding and heavier periods for the first few months....now it's down to spotting a few days for each period...and once it's in you can't feel it...

I haven't had any problems with my IUD. The only problem I did have was with my insurance company. Before I had it inserted they said it was covered, then after they were billed they said it wasn't.I still think it's worth it because I don't have to pay for pills & remember to take them & I was on Depo for a while & that really SUCKED bcause when I wanted to get pregnant & it took me 2 years to get the job done.
