Bra Problem?

lately my breasts have becoming very sore. But not all the time, its only when ive been wearing my bra for a long period of time (couple of hours). I find myself adjusting my bra alot and after awhile my breasts become very sensitive and start to hurt whenever i re adjust. Could i have a problem with my bra or is it something else?

Remember, there isnt any pain any other time, except around the time that i have been wearing my bra.

thanks so much

Hi ashok01, welcome!

Is your tenderness during your premenstrual time or are you just beginning to use hormonal contraception? Both situations can cause breast tenderness. Or have you been consuming a lot of caffeine, in colas, coffee or chocolate (the dreaded three Cs)? Caffeine can bring on tenderness big-time in some women. If your tenderness can't be linked to PMS or hormonal contraceptives then it might be worth keeping a food log to see what you are eating when the condition occurs again. Let us know, ok?

Good luck,

Also, sometimes hormonal contraception can cause breasts to become larger and more sensitive (OTC made mine fluctuate in size over the course of the cycle, biggest and sorest at the end). Also, what seem like otherwise tiny fluctuations in overall body weight can cause a pretty significant change in breast size. There's a solid chance that if you're more sensitive and/or larger than you used to be, a poorly-fitting bra will cause you quite a bit of pain. You may want to consider going to a good lingerie store and getting fitted for some new bras. it's amazing how much of a difference a correctly fitted bra can make.
