New Nuvaring user----questions

I started the Nuvaring two days ago at noon and I felt nauseous 14 hours later. I have had bad experiences with nausea in BC pills so I took the ring out with the idea in mind that hormones are just bad for me. Anyway, I had put it in cold water in the fridge and nine hours later I decided to give it a try to see if the nausea would return. I have felt fine since then and I have since then read that there should be no nausea after a couple days. Anyway, my question is: Was putting the Nuvaring in the cold water for 9 hours a bad idea? Could it have possibly made it less effective? Anyone, please let me know if you have any idea. I will not have unprotected sex until I know that it is safe. Thanks!

Hi Chpurr, welcome!

I don't know the answer to your question. If I were you I'd ask the manufacturer, Organon. The NuvaRing helpline is 1-877-NUVARING® (1-877-688-2746) and is available Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. EST. And, remember, you should use back-up for at least the first 7 days of wearing a good ring continuously. Let us know what Organon says, ok?

Good luck

I agree, I'd go right to Organon with that one! Chances are it's going to be a new situation to your doctor and your pharmacist...

Good luck! Hopefully the nausea will pass...
