Mircette, Yasmin, or OTC?

I go to my dr next week for a physical and yearly gyno visit...I've been on Seasonale since the beginning of the year. I love the 4 periods a year deal, but now that I'm in a relationship I'm not digging the waiting 3 months to see if there's been a mistake, you know? Also the fact that it costs $105 every three months, it'd be nicer to have the cost divided up also. I was on OrthoTriCyclen for about 3 years before that, and right before I started Seasonale, my costs went down and I paid $10 for OTC. So my last pack of Seasonale runs out at the end of the month and I've been looking up different kinds of pills to switch to. So far I've narrowed it down to the fairly common ones I guess - Mircette, Yasmin and the old standby OTC. Just wondering if anyone has any comments on Mircette or Yasmin, how it worked for them, upsides/downsides. I thought I read where Yasmin is a low dose pill - does that mean less "protection"? Just want to be armed with a little more info before I switch next week. Thanks!

If you are doing well on Seasonale and want a 21/7 regimen pill, you might want to consider Nordette. Nordette in the same formulation of hormones as Seasonale and should work well for you. Then you would have the flexibility to do a 21/7 regimen or 42/7 or what ever you want. Let us know what you decide, ok?
Best of luck to you.

I agree with Jill, if you like Seasonale, I would try asking your doctor about Nordette since it is the same hormones as Seasonale, just without the 3 month "waiting period." This was your body won't have to adapt to a new set of hormones from another brand of pill.
My experience with the other BTP's you mentioned... I hated OTC, but some people do fine on it, it all depends on your body. It gave me horrible mood swings and a boat-load (no pun intended) of weight gain! I am now on Mircette, which has a lower dose of hormones (no, this does not mean less protection) so it agreed with my body better. I like Mircette, but since I am sick of taking a pill every day, I'm switching at the end of this cycle to NuvaRing. Something else you might like to discuss with your OB/GYN since the dose of hormones in the ring are even lower! --- Still the same protection though and you don't have to worry about taking a pill every day, and you still get your AF every month! ---
Hope that was helpful!
