Hi,
For the past three months, I've been on a generic brand of Ortho Tri Cyclen, Ortho Tri Sprintec. I just went to get the prescription refilled, and they gave me Ortho Tri Cyclen. I was wondering if this was going to mess me up, switching between the two, and if I need to take any other precautions or whatnot. Thanks!

Switching between a generic and the brand name should not change the effectiveness of your protection. The hormones in the two pills are supposed to be therapeutic equivalents. However, you may have some side effects from the switch. Some women use back-up during the first pack of a different pill just for peace of mind. Do you know why they switched you and was there a difference in price? Let us know how you are doing, ok?
Good luck
Jill
I first got my prescription filled at one pharmacy, and I got it re-filled at my school's pharmacy. The first pharmacy gave me the generic, but the school pharmacy gave me the non-generic brand.
I'll keep you all posted!
