non-stop spotting

I am in my 1st month of pills and I know that spotting is normal but I didn't think it lasted this long. I have been spotting (I think that's what it is) for well over a week. It is like the last 1 or 2 days of my period & isn't really flowing but enough to use a tampon for. I switched from Nortrel (Ortho)7/7/7 to Yasmin a few days ago, which I know can cause spotting and BTB, but this started days before switching. I skipped the inactive pills of the Nortrel and went right into the Yasmin. I guess I'm a little freaked out because I have had a miscarraige and what I thought was my period then Is like what I am experiencing now. Though it's highly unlikely that I'm pregnant. Could it just be an early and strange period? Thanks for listening!

Hi there... it sounds like breakthrough bleeding (or spotting, whatever). This could be caused from switching pills... sometimes the hormone change (If nortrel is triphasic especially) can be dramatic...

Or it's just that your body is getting adjusted. my first month on contraception like that, I bled the ENTIRE first month... not like enough to necessarily need a tampon (sometimes yes, sometimes no), but enough that i was like, what the hell?

I am almost certain that your body is just adjusting to the hormones... good luck, and be patient! (It took me quite about 1-2 months to adjust). :-)
