I was just wondering if anyone knew if a multi vitamin, like One a Day Womens, effects the ablity of the birth control pill to work. Please let me know :)

I sure hope it doesn't, since I've been taking them for a couple years now. ;)

Honestly, I don't remember for sure, but I'm fairly certain I've told both of my doctors (OB/GYN and PCP) that I'm taking one-a-day women's multivitamins, and neither seemed concerned it would interact with my medications. in fact, i think both said that it was good i was taking them.

I'm pretty sure the eckerd drug interaction tool includes OTC drugs and supplements in its listing, and i don't see multivitamins listed under my pills. check your pill's interactions here:

A regular multi-vitamin will not reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives.
