What does it do??

Hey ya'll! Thanks for helping me out with my last question.Anyways,I've looked all through my Ortho Evra Patch information paper that comes with the patches, but I can't find anywhere where it says WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES! All it says is that It transports hormones through the skin. That doesn't answer my question though.. I heard that there are different kinds that do different things.Like.. One that doesnt let you release an egg, then one that build up the mucas membrane in your cervix so it cant pass through.. I'm not for sure it those are acurate or not I just heard them around.. But it would be a big BIG help if someone could please please answer this for me!!! Thanks ALOT!!!!
Goodluck to everyone!!

Hope that helps :)
Hi sugarbuns!
This is from the Ortho Evra full prescribing information:
“Combination oral contraceptives act by suppression of gonadotropins. Although the primary mechanism of this action is inhibition of ovulation, other alterations include changes in the cervical mucus (which increase the difficulty of sperm entry into the uterus) and the endometrium (which reduce the likelihood of implantation).”
All combined (estrogen/progestin) methods work the same way with the suppression of ovulation as the primary method. Does this help?
Best!
Jill
