I Know If Your On The Depo Shot You Never Get Your Period - So How Bad Would It Be To Skip A Few Periods (Since It Is Summer)..I Go To The Gyno Every Year For Exams And There Has Never Been Anything Wrong...Thanks So Much!

Actually this is quite normal for women to do. It is perfectly fine to skip a period... However, not all women are sucessfull with doing this. Some it may work perfectly fine, and others they may notice some spotting after starting the next pack. Its all up to your body. It doesn't mean it is not effective, just that your body can't go that long without a period.

Goodluck to you!

Hi sweetiepie2468

Some women skip three at a time so they have only four periods a year - think Seasonale. You aren't going to know if you can skip multiple periods or not until you try. Let us know how you're doing, ok?

Good luck,

It shouldn't be dangerous to do it, and some women are prescribed continuous oral contraceptives so they never get a period, or only get one once or twice a year. If you're interested in changing to a regular extended cycle (since you have had so much success with 3 months at a time), maybe you should talk to your doctor about the pros and cons of a continuous cycle, figure out if it's safe for you to do it (I don't know why it wouldn't be) and then make up a schedule for how often you want to get your period. Your doctor can also change your prescription to 15 packs/year or whatever you need to be covered the whole year on an extended cycle. This may even be stuff you can do over the phone with your doc or a nurse practitioner and not even have to bother with an office visit.

Hope it works out for you!
