Stopped patch, still no period

Last month, I stopped wearing the patch to see if my migraines stop. Last wednesday should have been the start day of my period. So far, no migraine (yay!) but no period either (?!) During this time, my s/o and I have had sex with a condom twice. I know I'll still be protected slightly. But I'm starting to wonder what happened with my period and where did it go! lol

How long does it take for the hormones to be gone and the period to start after that?

It generally takes up to three months to start ovulating again after being on combined contraceptives. It's different for every woman, so it's good that you're using protection just in case. Basically, if I were you, I'd use condoms and take a pregnancy test every month or so to make sure nothing was going wrong, and hope to see a period in 2-3 months.

It can take a little while for your body to readjust and get back to running on its own hormones. After being on hormonal contraceptives our bodies tend to get a little lazy!

Hi faerieunique, welcome!

You say "I know I'll still be protected slightly." You will not be protected eight days after removing the last patch of your last patch cycle. I'm glad that AF showed up. Please begin using another effective form of contraception because after seven days you have no effective protection from the patches you wore.

Good luck,
