hey all :)
i'm currently on triphasil-28 bcp's. i've been on these for about 2 years but recently (like within the last 8 months) ive been on them i have been extremely moody. i mean these pills effect my mood so bad i have days where its just like im not even me. i was on ortho tricyclen, but that made me even more moody so i switched to triphasil. does anyone have any suggestions on a brand of pills that wont make me moody anymore?

Triphasic pills, those that have varying doses of hormones at different times in the month, can make women moody because of the fluctuating hormones (like a normal cycle off the pill). Monophasic pills are all the same dose all month, which evens out the hormones and can offer more stability to women's moods. The closest comparable monophasic pill to Triphasil, if you like it otherwise, is Nordette. It's the same progestin and estrogen but the doses are 0.15mg levonorgestrel and 30mcg of ethinyl estradiol, which means it has a little more progestin than the third phase of Triphasil. There are other pills that you could try as well, but Nordette is the closest to what you're on now.
Hope that helps! Good luck!
