Could I be pregnant?
| Fri, 06-04-2004 - 11:01pm |
I have been taking the same birth control for three years now. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and he went inside me a couple of times but i ended up having my period. Here lately I have been extremely tired and I have noticed I have gained some weight. I just moved and I have not gone to the pharmacy to get new pills for the month. Normally just missing a couple of pills will make me start bleeding. I haven't taken any all week and have not spotted or anything. This is very unusual for my body. Any chance I could still be pregnant?

There is no 100% effective method of contraception except abstinence. However, it might be that the stress and exertion of moving has caused you to skip your period. Skipping a period isn’t too unusual while on the pill and moving certainly can tire you out! You absolutely should not go more than 7 24-hour days between active pills or you will loose your protection. If you do go more than 7 days then you need to use back-up while you aren’t taking active pills and for at least 7 days after you are again taking active pills correctly. If it’s past time for Aunt Flo to arrive and it would make you feel better, you could test just for peace of mind. Let us know how you are doing, ok?
Good luck
