On BC but period only on active pills

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me here... I am currently on my third pack of birth control pills and I have not had a period at all during the sugar pills of my first or second pack (and I have a feeling I won't have it at the end of this pack also). The first month I had what they call breakthrough bleeding during the middle of the second week on the pills and nothing on the sugar pills. When I was on my second pack I started on week three and ended the very day before the sugar pills. Pregnancy test have been negative but I'm worried that something might be wrong. Everything makes me cry and I know worrying that I might be pregnant every month stresses me out. Could this be the problem? For information purposes, I do take my pills every day at 6:30 a.m. no fail; have not missed even one day. Any help you can provide would really be helpful. Thanks much.

Have you discussed this with your doc? If you have been taking your pills on time and bleeding each month there is very little likelihood of you being pg. Mood swings and irregular bleeding are common side effects when starting BCPs. However, by the third pack you should at least begin to see a lessening of side effects. It sounds to me as though you might need a pill change, something to stop your late cycle bleeding. Talk with your doc and see what s/he says. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck
Jill
