Got any info about Patch???
| Mon, 06-07-2004 - 2:35am |
Hello all,
I was wondering how the patch works...I know you stick it on and its supposed to stay on for a week...Has anyone tried this?? Any info would be appreciated... Also, on orthotricyclen, i had better skin and gained a little weight
...Does the patch have same side effects?? and how reliable is it?

There has been a lot posted on this board about the patch, Ortho Evra. You can search the archives by putting 'Patch' or 'Ortho Evra' in the search box at the top of the screen. Have you looked at the Ortho Evra website? It’s: http://www.orthoevra.com/
Good luck

I didn't know that is what it was called..
I have been using the Ortho Evra patch for 5 days now. So far I have not boticed any side effects too horrible to bear. The spot the patch is on is itching a little now that it has been on for a few days (just started itching yesterday). It's kind of early to say, but so far I have not had nearly as much trouble with the patch as I had with the pill. I took the pill for 3 years and had awful problems with mood swings and nausea througout that time period.
Your doctor can give you information and a free sample if you decide you want to try. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Hi hon,
I've been using the patch for months now and really like it.
Thanks and goodluck
I have been on the patch for 1 year now and I love it. The first birth control I tried was Ortho Tri-Cyclen and it made me a total mess. Then I was on the Othro-Novum 1/35 for a long time, but I got sick and tired of always having to take a pill every single day. So I wanted to try the patch. At first I was so worried about it falling off that I constantly checked it. I only wore it on my butt for 1 week because I was too worried I couldn't see it if it came loose. Now I just put it on and go, no worries.
Now, after 1 year, the only side effects that I have are just a little nausea the day I put the patch on, but if I do it before I go to bed, i'm fine. What I like most about it is that if your are sick with the flu, it still works. You don't have to be worried if you digested it before you tossed your breakfast.
Hope this help, and good luck!
So even though the convenience is great, the side effects just aren't worth it for me and I'm considering going off of it.
That's just my experience though, everyone's body will react differently. Good luck!
