Ok ladies-- this is my first time taking a BCP ( was on depo UGHH) and Lunelle YEAH) about 3 years ago--
I have taken ALL my pills ( first month on OTClo) at the same time or within 30 minutes of the same time everyday-- Start this pack on Monday May 17th, 2004 i just started taking my green pills 4 days ago--i have 3 pills left in this pack-- i was breastfeeding when i started them and had not had a period bc of that-- i was 5 weeks postpartum when i started them. I have been bleeding ( full blown period bleeding not spotting) since May 28th, 2004. Is this to be expected of first time on BCP? Im hoping to get Mirena soon but have to come up with my copay first. Nurses at the drs office are blowing it off as breakthru bleeding. any advice? will i jsut have to wait it out? will the bleeding get worse while im finishing up the green pills?

If you've been on the inactive week for several days and it hasn't worsened, I'd suspect this is as bad as it's going to get. Make sure you start the next pack on time even if you're still bleeding--hopefully that will encourage the bleeding to stop, but I'd hope it slows down here in the next day or two.
Theoretically, breakthrough bleeding is supposed to be the worst (if it shows up) in the first month, improving each month, most of the time it's gone by month 2 and definitely month 3. If you're still having a lot of bleeding next month, you might check back with the doctor to see if they want to move you to a higher progestin pill or just wait it out another month or two.
I hope that helps! Good luck!
