I too started to spot on my first pack of pills.. maybe 5 days early.. then my period was light. I guess that is completly normal on your first 1-3 packs of OTC

Your period should be lighter on the pill than it is when you're off the pill. It doesn't always work that way, but it does most of the time! Spotting at the end of the active pills is also common in the first couple of months as your body gets used to the hormones, it should go away with time (so that you get your period during the last week of a 28 day pack).

Good luck!

Hi janmarie22,

Ah, ok, on OTC for 6 months then... Have you taken one or more pills late? Or, have you changed your diet - gone low carb? Or have you begun exercising and lost weight, or begun taking more than 1000 mg of vitamin C per day? All of those things can cause irregular bleeding in some women. Or, it might be that even after only 6 months on OTC your body has changed enough that your pill is no longer quite right for you. Let us know, ok?

Good luck,
