I had my pap smear on Wednesday. The nurse practitioner asked me how i liked mircette, and i said I had no problems, except for not ever wanting to have sex w. my husband. Plus, I gained about 8 pounds (but ive been drinking soda again). So, she suggested I try Yasmin. So, I started my new pack of Yasmin on Friday night. So far, I dont notice any nausea yet or anything, so I think that is a good thing. She also told me to start taking vitamin b6 daily. For those on yasmin, how does it work for you? Do you like it? Did it give you your libido back? I think its the hormones in me ..... I just cant get turned on anymore :( And, its not that my husband doesnt ..... because before I went on anything, I always did ... Just wondering if others experience the same thing?

Hi Kim, welcome back!

I've never been on Mircette or Yasmin but loss of libido is a common complaint from women on hormonal contraceptives. After 2 years on OTC my libido disappeared. It wasn't until I stopped taking hormonal contraceptives a year later that it came roaring back. I hope Yasmin works well for you.

Good luck,

I've been on Yasmin for about 7 months now... I love it! Don't have 1 complaint. As for the labido side effects, i really can't say. When i realized that BC could have this effect on your labido i had just started yasmin. I did notice a big increase, but thats every other month... For some reason my labido goes every other month. Odd don't know why but thats what it seems to do! Good luck to you! Its been the best pill i've been on yet.

If you haven't checked with your doctor and pharmacist about combining birth control pills and Trimspa (or any other diet pill), you should stop taking Trimspa until you do so. It is not regulated by the FDA for safety or effectiveness and just because the website doesn't indicate a conflict with birth control pills doesn't mean that there isn't one (they're not required to do complete testing). Some of these pills change how your body metabolizes fat or carbs, which can affect how your body metabolizes the pill as well if the hormones attach themselves to particular molecules that get blocked.

I asked about that when I had my appointment and she said she hasnt heard or seen anyone come in with problems yet. She said if I start to spot, to take them because like you said its then messing with the metabolism. She said there were patients who had problems with metabolife.
