Pills, Ovulation and Discharge

Hi - I'm new to this site- thanks for all the great info. By way of background, I'm on Alesse 28. For approximately the first week or so of my pill this month (2nd wk of cycle) I had diarrhea (TMI!) most mornings for several days. Reading through this site, I've noted a statistic stating that the pill may not be effective if your body "purges" within 2 hours of taking it - I'm quite sure I had at least a week of that exact situation.
Also, I understand the pill stops ovulation - if so, should this mean less or no discharge? I ask because as I've noticed more EW discharge this month which has me wondering if I ovulated, which of course leads me to the next obvious question, could I have conceived... Regardless, I'm interested in knowing if discharge is related to ovulation.
TIA - JESR

Typically you won't have egg-white mucous when you're on the pill, but some women say that they do. Personally, I've usually had less discharge when on the pill, it can depend on the progestin:estrogen ratio, as progestin tends to dry you up and estrogen tends to lubricate. There's all different kinds of textures and colors to normal mucous, though, and it depends on a lot of things.
If you had sex without using additional backup any time between when you were having diarrhea and until you'd had seven on-time and diarrhea-free pills in a row, there is a possibility that you might have something to deal with.
I hope that's helpful, and I hope things go the way you want them to!
