BTB & Pregnancy

As I have posted previously regarding the fact that I never get my period during the inactive/sugar pills but only during the active weeks (which I know is considered breakthrough bleeding) can my BTB be considred my period? I am asking because I am wondering if getting the BTB is a sign that I am not pregnant. I had breakthrough bleeding that just ended yesterday, if I don't get my regular period during the sugar pills (I seriously doubt that I will) should I take a pregnancy test?

Does that help?

Yes it helps. Thank you very much. It drives me crazy that I can't get my period during the active pills because every month I wonder if everything is okay. Without being told, my pharmacist switched my current microgestin pills to junel and that too had me freaked out because I am just beginning to see relief from the many side effects I was getting with microgestin. I just called the pharmacy and apparently microgestin is being replaced by junel. I hope side effects don't return due to new pill. Thanks for listening.
Replaced where, on your insurance Cos. list of approved drugs or in your pharmacies stocking plan? If you really want Microgestin you may have to pay more or switch pharmacies but you should be able to get it.
Good luck,
Jill
The way the pharmacist explained it to me, he said microgestin was no longer going to be available because I specifically told him that I would rather have stayed with it because of the side effects I had that are now going away. He said that they contained the exact same ingredients and I would notice nothing but that "Microgestin was no longer available" Could he have lied to me?? or... maybe I misunderstood and he meant it was no longer available to Walmart?? I'm going to stop by there tonight. Thanks.
I just thought you'd like to know that Microgestin and Junel are the same medication - Ethinyl Estradiol/Norethindrone Acetate. They just have different brand names. Many medications have different brand names (think Advil and generic ibuprofin, they're the same thing). If you want more info see this website: www.healthopedia.com/drugs/quick/ethinyl-estradiol-norethindrone-acetate/
Once a drug no longer has a patent, companies are free to make the same drug using a different brand name. Junel is probably less expensive, but it is the exact same thing. My hubby is a pharmacist and people are confused by this alot.
Thank you so very much for this information! You have no idea how grateful I am.
