I got off the pill April 5, after not having a period for 3 months, and 3 negative pregnancy tests. Dr put me on 10 days of Provera May 5, after another negative pregnancy test. Still no period in June. Dr put me on Ovcon 35 and Premarin June 9 for 3 weeks. Does this stuff make you gain weight and your nipples sensitive? I am a slender person, avg 120 LBs, but sure feel pregnant from weight gain! I have to admit, I am an ice cream feind, I'm at 135 LBs now. I'm 37 and really afraid my good metabolism is leaving me!

YES, that's a lot of estrogen to be taking a pill with 35mcg of estrogen AND Premarin, geez! Too much estrogen will definitely cause breast tenderness, bloating, and possibly mood changes. Fortunately it should be temporary and not an indicator of your metabolism.

I'd guess that your doctor's theory is that by giving you all the extra estrogen, the lining of your uterus will grow so much that there isn't enough progestin in the Ovcon to maintain it (or barely maintain it), so that when you stop the active pills at the end of the pack, you'll have a serious period. It could happen! And I hope it happens, I can't see why it wouldn't.

Let us know how it goes, okay?

Yeah, that's kinda what he mentioned, estrogen overload to shock my system. Thank you so much for the good news that hopefully it's the pill making me bloat! Only less than a couple more weeks to go! Then I guess I should be prepared for a flood!?!
