Hi all!

I am new to ivilliage and need some help...

I was on ortho tricyclen for about a year and was switched to otc lo because of the headaches i had on otc. Well after about two packs of the lo, I quit taking it all together. My face was breaking out, my cramps were worse and my mood swings were so awful that I couldnt stand it and neither could my boyfriend. Soon after I quit taking them, I felt like a new person. My skin cleared up and I wasn't so moody. So, I've been researching all kinds of bc and I was looking into Yasmin. I read that people who have problems with the three levels of hormones do better with the continuous levels...like Yasmin. I'm still hesitant and would appreciate any feedback or experiences you would share.

Thank you!!!

I switched from OTC to Yasmin and have never been happier! I was having similar problems with OTC and haven't had them with Yasmin. Its worth a try!

Good Luck.

I used yasmin and had no problem with it. With other pills, I had suffered side effects ranging from slight weight gain to migraines. This was the first pill that did not cause side effects that were very noticeable or, in the most severe case, debilitating (migraines, nausea, heavy periods, stomach problems, etc.). This pill actually alleviated many of the pms symptoms I have had to deal with since day one. The bloating subsided. My cramping was reduced. In some months, I experienced no cramping at all. My skin did not break out cyclically. Even the heaviness of the flow was lightened.

I had no problem with yasmin. It did not adversely affect my body like prior pills had. I'd recommend it.

I would recommend it too. Yasmin is the first bcp I have tried and couldn't be happier. My periods are lighter and shorter, no weight gain, no mood swings and no break outs whatsoever, it actually helped my skin. All in all I think it's a great pill. It's worth trying.

Thank you all so much for your input. I have been so unhappy with the other bcps that I have tried and I am nervous about this one too because of them. I have looked around and seen some reviews that are not too great about Yasmin, but for the most part, people seem to be happy with Yasmin so I think I will give it a try. It can't be any worse than the others. Just wondering... I get my bcp through Planned Parenthood and I know they don't carry Yasmin but does anyone know if they would write a prescription for me ??

Thanks again everyone!

Hi,

i am currently on yasmin, i have been on yasmin since February 2004, so about 4 months in all. i love this pill so far. i rarely have any spotting, unlike otc. this pill never makes me feel sick, and it is monophasic. i would highly recommend it. the only disadvantage is the $33.00 it cost a month. plus, very very light periods, my are only like 3 days long, and this is a plus..... good luck!
