Hi jackienmicky, welcome!

Hair loss can be a side effect of hormonal contraceptives. We have had an occasional post here about that but not very many. The weekends on the board are pretty slow so while you are waiting for a reply you can search the archives by typing hair loss in the search box at the top of the screen. You might also want to ask your question on the iVillage hair loss board at http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhhloss

Good luck

thanks jill and julie for the replies. now i know that i wasn't just dreaming up that my hair was thinning. like you julie, it hasn't been bad at all, i just noticed it because i had really thick hair and now it's a bit thinner....i was starting to wonder if something else could have been wrong, but now i know it was just the pills. started on alesse this week, so hopefully it will go back to normal. thanks!

Starting othro tri cyclen Lo has contributed to my hair shedding. Despite what the drug companies say, BCPs cause thinning hair in some people and you don't always get back a full head of hair.
