irregular period on the Pill?

So, I'm just finishing up my 3rd pack of Alesse - so i'm pretty new to being on the pill. It was my understanding, that you should get your period after you're done w/ your active pills, during the time you take the placebos - well, for the past two months, my period has come a day or two before the placebos during the active stage...
Now, this month, I'm late. According to my calendar, I should have gotten my period thursday (28 days after the start of my last period)- when I didn't get it, I thought, oh I'm getting on a more regular schedule according to my pills - so I thought my period would come the first day of my non-active placebos pills (yesterday) - so of course, now that i'm a whole day late, I'm freaked out (oh, and we use condoms too, so i know i shouldn't freak) - So, my questions is- is this common? is my body just getting used to the birth control and starting to regulate itself? should i worry?

I think your body is just becoming accustomed to the hormones in your pills. Typically you should get your period 2-5 days after beginning your placebos. Using condoms too you should be quite safe. I think AF should be along any time now. Let us know when she shows, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I'm also on Alesse, for about a year and a half now. My first four months were awful and strange. I was getting my period on and off throughout the whole time! At one point I had spotting for almost a month straight. It takes a while for your body to get accustomed to it, so I also agree that you shouldn't freak out just yet :) After the first four months, my period has become SO regular! I always get it on the fourth day of my placebos. So don't worry yet, you've probably got a little time left before it all becomes normal!
Good luck! :)

i'm trying to tone down my freak out quotient now! =)
