Does anyone know the risks of taking back to back pills? I.e. Not taking the placebos for a week. I need to "reschedule" my period.

I did that one time for my wedding/honeymoon. If I didn't do that, then I would've had it on my wedding day and part of my honeymoon. Yuck!! So I skipped placebos and went straight to my new pack and all was fine. Doctors just recommend that you don't do that all the time, just every now and then.

Hi corbee lee, welcome!

Not all women can but a lot of women take their pills back to back without problems. It is easier to do if you are on a monophasic pill which has all 21 active pills with the same dosage of hormones. If you are on a triphasic pill, see if you can get a monophasic with the same dosage of hormones as the last week of the actives in your triphasic. That way there won't be a drop in the progestin between week three of your old pack and week one of the new one that could trigger your period. If you have any complicating medical problems you might want to ask your doc about going back-to-back, otherwise you should be ok.

Good luck,
