Emergency Contraception Question
| Mon, 06-21-2004 - 3:35pm |
I was given EC (Ovral)less than 24 hours after my BF's condom slipped up inside of me (but he had not ejaculated). My doc thought the chances were pretty slim, but she gave me EC to be on the safe side (plus it was 13 days into my cycle). I'm 39 years old, do NOT want to be pregnant, and wondering how effective this will be? My doc didn't seem concerned at all...but of course, I'm worried. Also, I've noticed a thick white discharge today (took the last dose of Ovral on Sat. morning) and wondering if this is related to the pill.
Any help would be so much appreciated!!! Thanks!

EC is very effective taken so soon after the event in question. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you haven't already visited the EC site http://ec.princeton.edu/ there is a lot of good information there about what you can expect after taking EC. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck
Jill
