ok i went to the dr yesterday he was no better than the clinics i used to go to. dident even get a pap.i wanted to get nuva ring but they told me i would have to get a refural (sorry about the sp) to a gyn because they would have to put it in for me i thought that was kinda wered cues i have never read anything about that but i thought hay he is the dr. so i got ortho evra instid i was afraid my hubby wouldnt be able to beg for another day off he had a hard enough time getting them to let him leave for a just that appointment. so any way i was reading the paper that comes with a prescription on the drug interaction sheet that you cant have vitiamin C or asprin i thought that was wered so now im courions what about folic acid is that still ok to take i forgot to ask the dr. not that he seamed to know mutch. iv always taken folic acid expecially since i started bc it can cause a deficency of folic acid any one know if its still ok to take it. one more quick question. i still have 4 inactive pills left of ortho tri cyclin should i stick on my first patch the day i get my period or should i just go ahaid and put it on on sunday when i would have started my next pack of pills. what about skipping periods too how do i do that with the patch and still be safe? thanks for the help... julie

Hi I just started Ortho Evra a few days ago. I never have taken birth control in my life. The only birth control ever used was condoms sometimes. My boyfriend and I often used the pull out method. We finally decided we were playing russian roulet with pregnancy and we are not ready for that. So I'm 21 never been pregnant, just very lucky. Ortho Evra hasn't given me any side effects and is 99% effective when used correctly so go for it girl. It is better safe than sorry for sure!

Yeah, Ortho Evra is way more convenient than the pill. Plus it is absorbed faster because it doesnt have to be digested. I just started and it is way convenient. I just put one on within the first 24 hours my period started. So three weeks on and one week off, and thats the week you get your period. Easy and very effective!

I love Ortho-Evra. I was on Ortho-TriCyclen for almost a year and I was sick every single day (throwing up). I also gained about 15-20 pounds. Since I have been on Ortho-Evra I have been able to lose all of the extra weight (back to my high school weight) and I have not gotten sick at all. I set up an appointment with my doctor next month and I am definitely going to ask about taking the patch for 3 months straight. I'll let you know how that goes.
