Hiya!! I posted a few days ago about my husband getting a vasectomy. Anywho...we decided that now is not the time for it. I'm currently on the Depo Provera shot. I've heard it's normal to have mood swings, but how bad are they supposed to be?? The ones I've had are real bad. I'm talking like I get soo frustrated I want to crawl out of my skin. I don't know if I need to be put on some other form of BC or what. I mean other than the mood thing I love the shot. What do ya'll think??

Thanks!

Hi Michelle, welcome back!

Depo can affect some users that way. If I were you I'd talk with my doctor and see if there is something s/he can give you to even out your moods. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Hugs,

When I was 17 I got on Depo. I had never had breakouts or mood swings. After Depo I constantly felt like I was going to cry and my skin was always breaking out. Three months after getting off Depo, my skin has completely cleared and I feel much better. I am strongly against this form of BC.

Hi there, I was on depo provera a couple of years ago, and I had mood swings that were so bad one minute I would be fine, and the next minute I'd be bawling my eyes out. Or my boyfriend would say something that normally I wouldn't have a problem with and we'd end up in huge arguments. So it is fair to say that the mood swings you are having could be due to depo provera. You might want to talk to your doctor about other options. However, bear in mind that if you come off depo, it can take a while for your system to settle back down, and that the mood swings won't stop over night.

Good luck

Janet
