Nordette and headaches
| Wed, 06-23-2004 - 10:43pm |
I have been taking Nordette-28 for about a year now. I've done really well on it, regular periods (not two week long periods like I use to get with ortho-cyclen), no moodiness, great sex drive, no acne, no babies, everything has been perfect. However, last week I started getting really severe headaches and I'm still getting them. My parents are thinking it might be birth control pills, however it just seems too random to be the birth control pills. I was wondering if Nordette's known for this; if my headaches could possibly be because of the BC pills-depsite not being a problem for a year; and if it is the BC pills are there other contraceptives I could try (not condoms, or diaphrams--thats already being used, i'd like to stay on some type of hormonal type of conctraceptive)?
Thanks
Mer

Asking your doc about the possibility of your pills causing headaches would be a good idea. I don't really know but I think your headaches could be from your pills. Or, did anything change in your life about the time your headaches began? A change in diet, exercise, new medicines, anything? If not, you could try switching methods. Perhaps NuvaRing would be worth a try. A lot of members post about it and most seem to like it. See http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/index.asp Let us know what you decide, ok?
Good luck,
