hi portugueseangel

i just started the patch on wed the first day of my period today is friday and my period is prity mutch done with which kinda suprised me. i wonder if it will stay with three day periods. so far sideffects arnt too bad a little nausea the first morning but it went away in about an hour. eate salteen crackers they seme to help me feel better. i did have a migraine on wed afternoon but it was the start of my period too and i get thme then some times my last bc caused head aches alot and since im switching im not shure if it could be a left over sideaffect from the last bc. so far though no big problems. though it does get a fuzz ring around it a little advice dont were black panties the first day you put on the patch or you will have a black ring like me. most side affects go away with in a few cycles it will take a little while for your body to adjust to the bc. i hope everything works out for you... good luck.

I just switched from birth control pills (Ortho Novum) to the patch (Ortho Evra) this month.

I was on the pill for almost 5 years without any negative side effects. In fact, all the side effects were positive - regular cycle, short, light periods, a lot less cramping and PMS, and that kind of thing.

I've been on the patch for almost a week and haven't noticed any differerences. I decided to switch because I thought the patch would be a good way to simplify my life - no having to remember to take the pill at the same time every day and all that. Just change the patch once a week and not worry about it. So far, so good.

As with most hormonal birth control, different people have different side effects. Some people's bodies react badly, others don't have any problems. So it's really hard to tell what will happen in your case.
