Hey all, its been a while since I have posted here. I just wanna know if any of you are using the Nuva Ring. I am using it and I like it because I don't have to remember anything for 3 weeks. My one question that hasn't been answered by my doc or the website for nuva is, will the ring change anything about my normal vaginal discharge? For example, using spermicides is awful for oral sex because it creates a very bitter thick discharge. since the nuva ring is inserted will it do the same thing? Secondly, if any of you are only it, I just wanna know your feedback over all on how you like it. Any weird side effects????

I have just started NuvaRing also, but so far I really like it! It took me a little bit to get used to the fact that I can have sex with it in, but other than that I like it. It is great not to have to worry about taking a pill everyday. I just hope it takes care of my PMDD symptons that I was having on OTC.

Oh i do have another question... I know it (website) says that 8 out of 10 partners don't feel it during intercourse but will I feel it? I mean the way its inserted it seems like it will be pushing on my cervix alot during sex. Was there any discomfort or anything?

Because the ring is hormonal, it shouldn't cause the same taste issues as a spermicide, but it will probably change the quantity and/or quality of your vaginal discharge. I haven't heard any complaints!

I've been using the ring for a year and a half, and I think my fiance has felt it once and I don't feel it at all. It's flexible and since the vagina is too, the ring just gets pushed out of the way during sex and even during your annual pelvic exam (yes, you can leave it in for your annual!).

I hope that helps--I love the ring for its ease of use and the fact that it doesn't interfere with the rest of my life. Good luck!

Hey there!

Like many others out there, I'm a huge fan of this BC method! I don't feel it, I LOVE not having to remeber it- but mostly I love knowing it's effectiveness can't be affected the way the pill can (by my forgetting to take it at the same time each day etc). My SO says he LOVES it- can't feel it (except sometimes and sorry if this is TMI- but when he's fingering me, obviously he feels it). But during sex, not at all, I don't feel it in any way.

The only minor side effect I've noticed is feeling a teeny bit more yeasty than I used to otherwise, but frankly that could be caused by lots of things (recently begun a rather active sex life, which is more likely the cause!). and one of the positive side effects I've recently learned is that if you need to adjust the date your period comes, you can simply leave the ring in a couple extra days (up to a week longer- for a total of 28 days), or even take it out a couple days early. Unlike the pill or patch, you won't have to waste a new ring or anything to leave it in a bit longer!! woo hoo!!

Good luck with your research!
