Hi Jessica, welcome back!

A good place to start learning about IUDs would be to read missmuffi's ‘Information About The IUD’ contribution in the Frequently Asked Questions Folder at the top of the Folder View screen. Then if you have specific questions you can ask, ok?

Hugs,

I have had mostly good experiences with birth control pills-all except the last one I was on (MICRONOR).All cut my monthly pains-they made my periods lighter, cramps easier.I have the MIRENA IUD now. Some say they are better for women who have already had children. You would need to consult your dr for his advice on that-I'm not an expert.I don't knnow how it would affect your hormonal sitation (with excess hair and all)-again your dr might be able to help there. My experience with the IUD has been positive. It has basicly stopped my periods.I used to have heavy painful periods. Now basicly I just "spot" for a few days. The mirena can cause some women to stop having periods all together. This month I haven't had one.If I were giving you advice I would tell you to talk to your dr about finding the right birth control pill for you-I wouldn't go with the IUD as a "first timer"....but that's just my opinion....good luck.Hope you find something that works for you.
