Switched Pills... waiting and paranoid!
| Sun, 07-04-2004 - 4:57pm |
I am back again to post, and like always I am paranoid. This month I switched from OTC (triphasic) to Diane35 (monophasic) in an attempt to help my acne (which I'm happy to say is starting to have an effect!)Anyway, I am paranoid cause it's Sunday, the day I would usually get my period on OTC (on the day of the third inactive pill), and I haven't gotten it yet. I know that my period start day could have changed due to the switch over, but I was kinda hoping magically it would just work out the same (wishful thinking!!). When I switched I took the advice of both my pharmacist and this board. I started taking Diane 35 when I would have started my new pack of OTC (after the inactive pills were done). Then I waited 7 consecutive days (Actually it was 9 - even better!) to have sex with my boyfriend again, and when we did (twice in total) we used condoms and I made sure that he pulled out right after it was all said and done, no accidents in that respect. I took my pills religiously and never missed one, never took antibiotics and never had any other problems.
So here I am waiting, and I know I'm probably just paranoid, and I'm confident that that is what is causing the delay (as being worried has before...)
ANYWAY, my point of this story is that anything that anyone could say to help me calm down (sharing similar experiences, advice, saying that I did the switch correctly etc.)
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks girls... I love this board!!! I seriously don't know who I'd turn to otherwise.

Ok, step back and take a deep breath. Now, repeat after me: I am fine! I Am Fine! I AM FINE! You did the switch correctly and waiting more than 7 days is exactly right. And then condoms too! I’m sure that AF is just settling into her new schedule as your body adjusts to the different hormones you are putting into it. She should be along any time now, right? Let us know when she shows, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I know I know, I shouldn't worry so much, especially because I try really hard to learn as much as I can about what I'm putting into my body, how other things can affect that, and different precautions.
Still, having someone to look over your situation to make sure you haven't missed anything and tell you not to worry always helps!!
I will let you all know when AF comes. Should be along soon. It'll be one joyous occasion.

It is I, ready to go to bed, AF-less and still paranoid.
*i'm fine, I'm Fine, I'M FINE*
Here's a question for anyone who has switched pills in the past: did the day on which your AF start change from what it was before? like if you started on a monday before the switch, did it change to sunday or tuesday on a different pill?
Thanks for the input all:)
Why don't you create a poll and ask your question? It's buried here under a title that won't call attention to it. All you have to do is click on the 'Create a Poll' box at the top of the folder and be guided by the instructions.
Good luck,
Jill
