Hello everyone,
I got my first depo shot on June 15 of this year, my doctor also put me on premarin, an estrogen supplement. The past few days my breast have been so sore i cant sleep on my stomach, i have fet nasueus all the time but expecially after i eat, I have been eating more than i nornally would. I have either not been able to sleep or i cant seem to sleep enough, it is different everyday. I have constant heart burn and i never get heartburn. Also, when my doctor gave me the shot he recomended that we use another form of protection for 2 weeks after getting the shot and we didint do that. Is it possible i got pregnant despite being on birth control or is all of teh this just in my head. also i should start my period within in the next couple of days. any advice would be helpful

I think your sore breasts and nausea may be caused by the estrogen supplement you’re taking. And tender breasts are mentioned as a possible side effect of Depo as well. If your period would be due about now then you may also be experiencing some PMS. Consuming a lot of caffeine (sodas and chocolate etc) can also add to breast discomfort. Check the prescribing info on the Depo site: http://www.depoprovera.com/index.asp I think it is very unlikely that you are pg as Depo is 99% effective. You might want to have a talk with your doc and let him or her know what's going on. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
