Nausea on OTC-Lo, Got Worse After A Yr??
| Wed, 07-07-2004 - 12:26pm |
Hello,
I have been on BCP for 4 years, and on OTC-Lo for about one. When I started OTC-Lo I had a little bit of nausea the first few days of each pack, but it was bearable. Now, however, I think it's getting worse. This morning I had to cancel working out with my friend because I knew I would vomit if I got out of bed. I'm getting pretty frusturated, and what I really want to do is to stop BCP and try for a baby, but my DH doesn't want to right now. Has anyone ever experienced this side effect? I want to make sure its the OTC-Lo that's giving me the nausea.
Thanks!
Andrea

Nausea can be a side effect when starting or changing pills but usually disappears after about 3 cycles. Our bodies change with time so perhaps you have ‘outgrown’ your present pill. I think it may be time to ask your doc for a pill change! Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,

I have been on OTC-Lo for 4 months and I am finding this WORSE than what people tell me is pregnancy nausea! It is progressively getting worse everyday I swear, and I was NEVER sick when I was pregnant 1 day. I went on it due to cystic breasts, well at my 4 month follow up I will try for a monophasic pill or stop altogether. Condoms when used 100% of the time the right way worked 100% for 10 years with my husband..... as for the boobies, they better cooperate! Also, I had ridiculous breakthrough bleeding on OTCLO not just spotting. I know I should give it more time or adjust it but I really want my body back the way it was! It is the tri-phasic pill that messes alot of us up I swear!! Good Luck!

Four cycles is usually enough time to see if a pill works well for you. It sounds as though OTC-Lo wasn’t the right choice! If you are still some time away from your follow-up you might want to call your doc and see if s/he will switch you over the phone. Let us know what pill you switch to and how you like it, ok? I hope you’re feeling better soon.
hugs,
Jill
