a couple of weeks ago the condom slipped off 'at some point' and we didn't realize until it was all over...i recently adjusted my period start date by keeping the ring in a couple of extra days.
but usually with the ring, my period would come within 1-1.5 days of taking the ring out, but i took it out monday afternoon and still no period. i believe i'm officially freaking out and plan to take an HPT if it doesnt come by the 'close of business' today...
but could the late start here be JUST because i kept the ring in a few extra days (4 days to be exact)? of course the undue stress from now being totally consumed by thinking about this probably isn't helping either. i guess i'm just looking for some reassurance so i can get through the day without flipping out!

Remember, the ring is a very effective method of birth control and it's hard to screw it up! Using a condom at the same time is a good backup, but not essential unless you've been using certain prescription drugs or supplements.
And just as reassurance, stress normally doesn't affect women's periods much if they're using hormonal contraceptives. Stress can delay ovulation (if you're ovulating), but once you've ovulated that period is coming, like it or not! So stressing now will not make your period any later than it was already going to be.
How are you doing today?

I am LUCKILY doing much better today as my period arrived late yesterday!!! PHEW!
as one of my friends said yesterday, that now that i'm having REGULAR sex and adjusted my period a few days, that was the clear explanation.
but of course, the more you stress, the more it will stay away! i'm just SO used to having 2 methods of birth control that when one failed, i suddenly felt very vulnerable. but that is the POINT of using two methods!!
But YES, i've never been so happy to have cramps in my life!
