GYNECOLOGIST TREATMENT NOT WORKING

I have a problem finding a birth control pill that works without feeling ill/having side effects. The patch is fine except I am allergic to the adhesive. No matter where I place it, I get a red rash like a burn.

The issue is the gynecol.. is reluctant to work with me on finding the pill that suits me. I'm in my 40's and miss periods occasinally. Is anyone else having this problem? He prescribed 2 birth control pills (one I can tolerate more than the other),but he keeps pushing the nuvo ring which I do not want at all. I'm at the point where I just let it go and hope the pill won't bother me when I take it.

Has he explained why he prefers Nuva Ring? (perhaps the Nuva Ring sales rep was just in)I was originally going to say that your age was the reason why he didn't want to prescribe a pill as women over 35 are more at risk of problems from hormonal birth control-but that would include the patch and the ring as well.

I say make an appointment and discuss your options with him and voice your concerns. If he seems reluctant to hear you out or give the reasoning behind his decisions, find a new doctor.

Hope everything turns out OK.
