So on Thursday morning I tried to take my pill and it fell in the sink. just by the drain... I finally found it there and it was gooey from the water. I scraped up as much as I could of the pill (eww) and swallowed it. Then I've been taking the rest of the pills as normal.
I should also say that I returned from abroad and so the timing of the pill has been altered a little.
So... I didn't intend this, but my ex and I had our first "encounter" of sorts since we broke up and we had sex sunday morning. He pulled out (not that that helps much, I know) and came on me. I don't know for sure if any was in me at all.
Even though i'm on the pill and especially because of what I described above, I went to my doc and got plan B and just took it. It had been about 35 hours since I'd had sex.
My question - plan b prevents pregnancy in most cases. What if the egg is already fertilized by the time you get plan B?
ANyone have any comments?

The Plan B prescribing info: http://www.go2planb.com/section/prescribing_info/?PHPSESSID=621e56554d26807451d64fb4cab2615f says this about how it works:
“CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
Emergency contraceptives are not effective if the woman is already pregnant. Plan B is believed to act as an emergency contraceptive principally by preventing ovulation or fertilization (by altering tubal transport of sperm and/or ova). In addition, it may inhibit implantation (by altering the endometrium). It is not effective once the process of implantation has begun.”
Plan B is very effective if taken within 72 hours of the event so you are probably ok. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
