Weight Gain and Spotting on the Pill

I have been on Ortho-Tricylen lo for a little over 7 months now, and during the first three i experienced the 'typical' spotting, cramping, moodiness, all that fun stuff, and then i was good! like magic all the side affects went away. Now all of a sudden, about two weeks ago, I experienced a disgusting amount of weight gain. I have been no more stressed than i usually am, I have eaten no more or less that I always do, I have done nothing differently at all, at yet I don't fit into my pants anymore. Significant weight gain in my belly, hips, thighs, and butt, along with acne on only the left side of my face. The acne doesn't bother me, and I never even thought to relate it to the pill, because to be honest I don't look at my own face enough to care what it looks like. The weight gain, bugged me, but I figured I would start a diet and do some extra walking whenever possible, not go too out of the way, but so as to not be a horrendous pig anymore. The spotting, however, is something I CANNOT edeal with again. My third month on the pill I was nonstop bleeding, tampons everyday and a liner handy just in case. I am NOT prepared to deal with uneccasary bleeding again. I don't have a gyn I can go to, I obtain my pills throught Planned Parenthood and they're always so busy, the gyns are always in a rush and they look so tired, I don't trust them to give me a solution. So I reach out to you, whoever has any idea, advice, knowledge, PLEASE share.... I show no signs of pregnancy except for the spotting.... thank you for your time to read all this and any and all helpful responses will be GREATLY appriated

Sometimes irregular bleeding can be brought on by a change in diet (going low carb) or taking more than 1,000 mg of vitamin C per day. If you are beginning to loose weight, burning fat releases estrogen and the additional amount released by the fat could be enough to throw you off a bit. Or, it might be that OTC isn't for you. Delayed irregular bleeding isn't common but it is not unknown. This ring any bells? I know they are busy, but It might not be a bad idea to talk with the PP doctors or a nurse about your bleeding too. Let us know how you're doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
