I am on my first month of Birth Control. I have not had many problems, but during the 3rd week my boobs tured purple. Then the week after that I was so dehydrated. I did not think anything of it, because I drink 2 liters of water a day, but I was up to 3 liters and still feeling like I was so thirsty. Then I keep getting one canker sore after another in my mouth, which has never happened before. So I looked up the causes of them, and they said dehydration. Can the pill be causing me to be so dehydrated????

Hmmm.....I really dont know much about this one (Judie or Jill would know more), but I know that Yasmin helps to reduce water retention....are you taking Yasmin? Just a thought that popped into my head. Dont know if it could be related..

I suppose it could be possible, but I've honestly never heard of dehydration (like massive dehydration) as a side effect of the pill!

I am taking Levlen 28. It seems to be getting better and since I am on the week off, all the canker sores went away (as of today no new ones). I am starting to stress that i have not started yet, they will show up again (HAHA!). I will be patient and try another month. I have never taken anything in my life and I think my body is just freaking out. :) You have to give it 3 months right? I guess the water drinking is not a bad side affect. :) I am going to shoot an email to the Nurse at the hospital and see what they say.
