For the past seven months I have been taken OTC lo and have been taking it continiously. I don't get a period to help control the endo. I plan to do this until January and then I will be off the pill to start TTC.
The only problem is in the beginning I notice some spotting that went away in the 3rd montth and then it was smooth sailing. About 2 weeks ago I was a few hours late with taking 2 pills and I have my TOM full fledged. I started spotting a week ago and I'm still going strong since Thursday.
Someone told me it could also be since i started Atkins and the change is too much..

My real question is should I maybe just stop taking the pills conitniously. (I never take the green ones, I just start up on the white ones)

It’s interesting that you have been able to go that long skipping your period on a triphasic pill. Eventually the estrogen in your pill will grow your endometrium until the progestin in your pill can no longer stabilize it and you will begin bleeding. Low carbing might have speeded up the process a bit since burning fat releases a small amount of estrogen which might have been enough to destabilize the lining. And the fluctuation in your hormones from the late pills might also have been the trigger or added to any effect from your change in diet. Since you are using OCs for Endo control you might want to ask your doc. but I think taking a week off when you get to the placebos and then beginning again will probably allow you to continue skipping. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck,
Jill
I think I'm going to take the pill normally now. We're leaving for vaca tomorrow and the bleeding shows no sign of slowing down. Its not a gushing type and i have no cramps or anything. I talked it over with my fiancee and since I'm going off the pill anyway in Jan (we're getting married in April and we're going to start TCC in Feb) there isn't any reason why I shouldn't take the pill normally.
I just wish there was some way I could stop the bleeding now....
